Amerks Hometown Hero Game   January 23rd, 2013

Monday January 21st the Rochester Americans held a Hometown Heroes game.  During the game the Amerks players wore West Webster patches on their jerseys to honor the fallen and injured firefighters from the Christmas Eve incident.  During the pregame ceremonies members from West Webster, Webster, and Spencerport Fire Departments as well as family members from Tomaszs’ family presented the American Flag during the national anthem.  The Amerks won the game 6-3 and that game was followed up by an RPD vs RFD game which was won by RPD 13-6.  The Amerks are auctioning off game worn jerseys with the West Webster patch on their website.

Webster Holiday Parade   December 3rd, 2012

It’s that time of year again and West Webster had a great showing again for the Village of Webster’s Electric parade of lights.  We sent several pieces of equipment and managed to win for best appearing marine unit as well as the Best Overall Award.  Thank you to all the members who spend their time decorating our equipment and preparing them for the parade.  Also thank you to the community for your continued support throughout the year.

They were the first on scene of a devastating fire December 7th, 2011 where three people perished, and this past thursday they were honored for their actions in that trying time.  The West Webster 6 didn’t know what they would be facing when they responded for a house fire with the possibility of people trapped but that night they all acted with professionalism and a heroism that makes all their brother and sister firefighters proud.  In recognition of the actions taken that night West Webster Chief James Deisenroth named Firefighters Justin Bassett, Dan Franklin, Bill Lang, Russ Perrone, Nick Volo, and Nick Wolfe as Firefighter of the Year.
