Thursday February 7th two members from West Webster assisted the Monroe County Crimestoppers by answering phones and receiving donations for the organization.  Assistant Chief Vince Pratt and PIO Al Sienkiewicz were present to assist the crimestoppers organization.   Lt. Firefighter/EMS Provider of the Year   February 4th, 2013

Below are the write ups for the firefighter and EMS provider of the year for 2012 for the West Webster Fire Department.  The members chosen for firefighter of the year were Past Chief Michael Chiapperini and Firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka.  The EMS provider of the year is Firefighter Brandon Nugent.

Amerks Hometown Hero Game   January 23rd, 2013

Monday January 21st the Rochester Americans held a Hometown Heroes game.  During the game the Amerks players wore West Webster patches on their jerseys to honor the fallen and injured firefighters from the Christmas Eve incident.  During the pregame ceremonies members from West Webster, Webster, and Spencerport Fire Departments as well as family members from Tomaszs’ family presented the American Flag during the national anthem.  The Amerks won the game 6-3 and that game was followed up by an RPD vs RFD game which was won by RPD 13-6.  The Amerks are auctioning off game worn jerseys with the West Webster patch on their website.

Webster Holiday Parade   December 3rd, 2012

It’s that time of year again and West Webster had a great showing again for the Village of Webster’s Electric parade of lights.  We sent several pieces of equipment and managed to win for best appearing marine unit as well as the Best Overall Award.  Thank you to all the members who spend their time decorating our equipment and preparing them for the parade.  Also thank you to the community for your continued support throughout the year.

Sunday October 14 West Webster held another successful Open house.  Openning our doors to our community to allow them to see what the proud volunteers from West Webster do.  Demonstrations were held in vehicle extrication, stove fires, as well as tours of our trucks and a bounce house for the kids.

Scholarship Awards Presented   August 14th, 2012

On Tuesday August 7th West Webster announced the three winners of the annual scholarship.  This years winners were:

Tim Volo – $400 – Tim is the son of Steve Volo who is an active member and he will be attending Monroe Community College in the fall.

Jordan Diggory – $800 – Jordan is the son of John Diggory who is a social member and he will be attending the University of Buffalo in the fall.

Jillian Korn – $1300 – Jillian is the daughter of Dan Korn who is an active member and she will be attending Bucknell University in the fall.
