Past Weeks Events October 9th, 2013
This past week West Webster members and families have had the honor to participate in two special events. The first event took place over the course of the weekend and was the 2013 National Fallen Firefighters weekend in Emmitsburg, Maryland. West Webster sent two buses w/ members and families down to honor our fallen brothers. There were several events over the course of the weekend from a candelight vigil to the 32nd annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. Following that event was an event held tuesday October 8th in the State capital of Albany. In this event Firefighter Kaczowka and Past Chief Chiapperini’s names were added to the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial located on the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

Annual Open House September 21st, 2013
We will be holding our annual open house on Sunday October 20th, from 1pm to 4pm. Please stop by to support your local fire department and get a glimpse of what we do.
Webster Parade Tonight July 11th, 2013
Tonight is the annual Webster Volunteer Fireman’s Parade. Come see Fire, EMS, and Police agencies from as far away as Toronto, Canada as well as local representatives and groups from the Webster area. The parade starts at 6:30. After the parade bring your family by to enjoy the rides, games and food at the Carnival. Proceeds for this event help support the Webster Fire Department men and women.
Firefighter Joe Hoffstetter Returns to Work July 10th, 2013
Tuesday July 9th Firefighter Joe Hoffstetter made a triumphant return to work after being injured in the Christmas eve incident. Firefighter Hoffstetter was injured in the attacks and has spent the last 7 months rehabing and getting himself back to a point where he would be able to return. Our West Webster family wishes to congratulate Joe on his accomplishments.
Support for Local Crimestoppers Program February 11th, 2013
Thursday February 7th two members from West Webster assisted the Monroe County Crimestoppers by answering phones and receiving donations for the organization. Assistant Chief Vince Pratt and PIO Al Sienkiewicz were present to assist the crimestoppers organization. Lt. Chiapperini was an avid supporter of the Crimestoppers program and his last media appearance was on 13Wham TV in their weekly crime stoppers segment. Firefighter/EMS Provider of the Year February 4th, 2013
Below are the write ups for the firefighter and EMS provider of the year for 2012 for the West Webster Fire Department. The members chosen for firefighter of the year were Past Chief Michael Chiapperini and Firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka. The EMS provider of the year is Firefighter Brandon Nugent.

Amerks Hometown Hero Game January 23rd, 2013
Monday January 21st the Rochester Americans held a Hometown Heroes game. During the game the Amerks players wore West Webster patches on their jerseys to honor the fallen and injured firefighters from the Christmas Eve incident. During the pregame ceremonies members from West Webster, Webster, and Spencerport Fire Departments as well as family members from Tomaszs’ family presented the American Flag during the national anthem. The Amerks won the game 6-3 and that game was followed up by an RPD vs RFD game which was won by RPD 13-6. The Amerks are auctioning off game worn jerseys with the West Webster patch on their website.
