To the family and members of the West Webster Fire Department and Webster Police Department, I send my condolences on the loss of two of your comrades and friends. As a former volunteer firefighter and EMT in a small Pennsylvania town as a young man, I used to spend countless nights sleeping at the fire station. I hope and pray that time and prayer will allow your hearts to heal.

Lynn Says:

I’m sorry for your loss my thoughts are with you and your families.

When I’m called to duty god
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age

Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out

I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property

And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife

Webster Resident Says:

Tomasz and “Chip”,

I have never met you,but have been crying for you
I do not know your mother, but my heart breaks for her because I am a mother too
I do not know your family, but know the pain they are experiencing from losing a family member at the hand of another
I do not personally know the reason you wanted to be a firefighter, but do know you were a tremendous human being for doing so
I do wish that I had met you ,as the love that has been expressed throughout our community, shows I have missed a wonderful opportunity
I do know that anyone related to you, was blessed by you
I do know that you will carry on from above and watch over and protect as you have always done
Though our hearts are broken and the pain will be forever, the beautiful memory of your life, love and dedication to others will be eternal
God Bless You Tomasz and “Chip”

Michael Fetcho Says:

When I was a Director at The Salvation Army in MA, I had the distinct honor of working with firefighters in Boston, MA and at Ground Zero during the 9/11 tragedy in NYC. I haven taken my young daughter to the local fire departments to bring gifts at Christmas and to show her the true heroes in America. I feel a special kinship with the jakes and share my deep sorrow for your murdered and wounded brothers. You risk your lives to keep us safe across the country, yet it is unfathomable to good people everywhere how these men lost their lives to a coward with a gun. You are all in my prayers and may God bring comfort and healing into your lives.

Lin Kilgore Says:

Having lived in Webster for all of my 60 years I can truthfully say that the people I have always admired the most were the members of the volunteer fire department . Unselfish always giving of themselves, brave, & heros to us all. My parents always supported these courageous men and women both financially and spiritually. This tradition continued when I became an adult and a member of the Webster Community. To have our heros lost to this senseless act of violence is heartbreaking and leaves one asking why. May we all join together to support our fallen heros and support their families in every way we can. Many prayers to the families, friends, and also those effected by this tragedy. May you rest in God’s hands.
