West Webster Responds to Record Setting Storm

On March 8th, 2017 a low pressure system moving in from the west brought one of the strongest gusts of wind in recorded history for the Rochester area.

At approximately 1:35 PM a gust of 81 MPH was recorded at the Greater Rochester International Airport. The winds continued to gust between 50-60 MPH in the hours that followed. These winds were equivalent to Hurricane Strength winds.

WWFD responds to Penfield for house fire on Creek Street

On Saturday March 3 around 6 pm, Penfield and West Webster was toned out for a possible chimney fire on Creek Street. First arriving Penfield Chief declared a working fire. West Webster and Penfield arrived on scene. P123 was first assigned as the RIC assignment, but then was sent to work shortly after arriving. West Webster Assists at Christmas Eve Fire

At approximately 22:30 hours on Christmas Eve, West Webster was dispatched to assist the Point Pleasant Fire District with a multiple alarm fire at the Irondequoit DPW building. West Webster responded 2 pumpers and a ladder. In total, over 1 dozen departments responded to the scene or to back fill empty stations. The last West Webster unit returned to service just before 06:00 Christmas Morning.... (Full Story & Photos)
