P123 arrived on scene to business as usual. Upon investigation, crews found a smoke condition inside the building.

Firefighter’s split into two teams, one team to evacuate over 200 people, and one team to search for where the smoke was originating from. Upon investigating, firefighters found the smoke condition getting worse in the kitchen area, where they ultimately found a fire in the attic of the building.

Additional arriving crews, including mutual aid from Webster Volunteer Fire Department, Irondequoit Fire District, and EMS crews from Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance, assisted in securing water to extinguish the fire, provide additional manpower due to size of structure and frigid temperatures, and finally EMS support if needed. Brighton Fire Department and Penfield, NY Fire Company filled in to our Station 1, to cover additional calls.

Fire was declared under control at 9:51pm. We thank our neighboring departments for their help.

We also want to thank the public for their understanding and cooperation
