The West Webster Fire Department consists of two separate entities.
The first entity is the West Webster Volunteer Firemen's Association. The Firemen's Association consists of the members of the department and is funded solely thru donations given to them by the public.
The other entity is the West Webster Fire District. The Fire District is a tax district which raises funds by levying taxes that are paid by the community.
The purpose for which this Association was formed is threefold:
- To protect life and property from fires and provide emergency medical service.
- To help prevent fires by fire protection education.
- To provide such services to the community as shall be deemed desirable by the members of the Association.
To insure that the organization runs well at emergency scenes and that it faces it's business issues promptly and efficiently we have two groups of elected officers. The Line Officers oversee the emergency scenes and the Civil Officers preside over the business matters of the organization.
