West Webster Volunteer Firemen’s Association Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY FOR NYS SCHOLARSHIP:
A 4 year renewable $3,400 scholarship Volunteer firefighters and ambulance personnel who: have a high school diploma or equivalent, have been NYS residents for at least 1 year, are enrolled in an approved undergraduate program in NYS within 50 miles of WWFD, are not in possession of a baccalaureate degree or higher, have a course load of at least 6 credits and have applied for state and federal financial aid. If 23 years of age or older, have less than 6 months of volunteer service at time of the award. If under 23 years of age, no minimum or maximum time of volunteer service is required at time of the award. Per state requirement, recipient will be chosen by the scholarship committee based on the selection process below.
ELIGIBILITY FOR WWVFA SCHOLARSHIP:
Applicants must be members of the Association, the son or daughter of a member or an active member of the West Webster Firematics Explorer Post. Applicants must be enrolled as a high school senior at the time of the application, have received their GED at time of application, or who will graduate from high school by June or are already enrolled in a college or university. The applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college, university or vocational school in the upcomming school year. Applicants may not have previously won this scholarship.
