| The first unit arrived on scene within four minutes, at 3:50 PM, and immediately declared a working fire. Due to the size and type of the structure, a second alarm was quickly requested to bring in additional mutual-aid resources.
Upon arrival, crews successfully deployed a ladder to rescue one resident from a second-floor balcony, and a dog was brought out the front door. Firefighters simultaneously conducted a thorough search of the remaining apartments while working quickly to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring apartments.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. No injuries were reported among residents or responding emergency personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
